Dobrey Dien!

Dobray Dien (not russian-phonetic english)
Thats how you say good day!

OH AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AARON, ANNA AND SAM! I love you. I would sing
you Russian happy birthday if I knew the words. It's hard and it's
really weird. It's all minor sounding and very interesting. But I'll
learn it!
I can't believe you are all so old. Aaron- now that your 16 doesnt
mean you can kiss girls okay. And Anna and Sam! Welcome to your 12th
year of life. it's going to be grand. You get to do baptisms and go
into the temple! It's pretty sweet. be good kay. And Sam congrats on
getting the preisthood and being a deacon. You're going to be the best
looking passer of the sacrament!

This is going to be as quick as possible and probably full of
grammatical mistakes because I'm gonna go try and find Ethan! Today is
my P-day so I'm gonna conveniently write letters outside of the main
building all the missionaries  have to go through! I'm so excited to
see him! I told all of the elders do go and hug him or give him a
spank and talk to him if they see him. Everyone has been asking if
I'll hug him. And I can honestly say I don't know! I want to! But it's
been so long that I've hugged a boy I think it would be super weird!
And we'll see what Ethan does first. Man. I'm officially a really
weird missionary now.

This week has been good. Can you believe 13 days and I'll be headig to
RUSSIA!? bahhhhh. Everytime I think of that I want to puke. Elder
Bunnell and I learned the word for butterflies in Russian cause that's
what we feel. Everytime we think about it we look at eachother and do
the little happy hands move. haha. We're both pretty nervous. I was
totally pumped in June but now I'm freaking scared! But it's good. I
found some really great scriptures about through God you can do
anything. Believe in him and he will direct your ways. He'll be on
your left and your right and his angels will bear you up. etc. etc. I
wrote them all down on construction paper and hung them up on our
mirror so we all get pumped. I was going to send you them but I fogot
the list in my room. So looks like you'll have to do some scripture
searching of your own! One of my favorites was in D&C 25 and it's
given to Emma Smith "You are an Elect Lady, whom I have called." I'm
pretty sure this one applies to me too! So yeah. I'm totally ready to
go to the Mother land!

So this week was pretty eventful. Sister Biggs arm has been bugging
her and we're still trying to figure out what it was especially since
we have 2 weeks left! So we went to a hand specialist and a
neurologist and today we went and got an MRI. They figured out it's
not carpal tunnel. And it's not Thoratic nerve something or other. But
they gave her some steroids and she should be good for the next 2
years and the MRI is going to tell us if her neck is the problem. Í
don't really understand but apparently it's all going to be okay. So
yeah many a trips to the real world. And I got to "listen" to the
olympics. I chose the chair not looking at the TV in the waiting room
cause it's way too much of a temptation! haha. But apparently there
was some Russian guy on the volleyball team so my ears were perked.
haha.

We played Olympics the other day in class. Lithuania verse Russia
because apparently they played against eachother in basketball. So we
did grammar quizzes and then whoever got the question right got to
shoot a basket into the trash. It was so much fun. We live for little
things like that.

Speaking of living for little things. You can tell how much I'm a
missionary by how much I loved this joke.
"What concert is only 45 cents?"

-50 Cent featuring Nickelback!
hahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahhahaha. Can you imagine how terrible
that concert would be. Anywhoo sister thornhill's dad sent that one
and we were dying. so i thought i'd pass it on.

We had Aptem's baptism! Our whole class was about the same pace with
converting aptem so we had a baptismal service. I played the piano.
Sister Biggs, Elder Bunnell and Elder Hansen gave a talk. We brought
our investigator "Cerge"" and it was actually really nice. And then
Aptem bore his testimony. And no mom. Even though they aren't real
investigators not everyone gets baptized! Our teachers take the role
of an investigator they had on their mission and we teach them as if
they were actually them. And it's pretty cool. The spirit is there
even though this person is already converted. And they don't always
keep committments. Cerge is getting closer to baptism. His date is for
next week but it took us a long time to get him to Pray because he
doesn't believe in God. But now he does! And he knows the book of
mormon is true!

Speaking of the Book of Mormon. It's a really good book! Have you read it? haha.
I just finished it yesterday and it felt sooooo good! We've had 2
talks this week both on Sunday in Mission Conference and on Tuesday
Devotional about the Book of Mormon. It is truly amazing. yesterday
the speaker spoke of how the translation process occurs now if you
want to put the book of mormon in a new language. it takes almost 5
years. You have to have a committee and you revise it and then publish
it. Joseph Smith did it in like 60 days. he said a real scholarly
translator can do a page a day. So there's 531 pages in the book of
mormon. You do the math! This book has to be true! How could joseph
smith doe like 10 pages a day if he didn't have God's help!? It's
incredible! I encourage you all to read it because it truly is the
word of God! And I love it!

We celebrated Elder Betteridges birthday (without the treats that are
supposedly coming in a package) cause I thought it was this week but
it was on Thursday the 2nd! (oops!) Oh well. We improvised. I have
lots of construction paper so we made him a crown and the rest of us
party hats. they are actually really cute because jessie had sent me
some cute yarn and we taped it so they actually looked like real party
hats with cute orange and white yarn! And we decorated the class and
sang the Russian happy birthday song (which is mentioned is pretty
crazy) and we got some candies from the book store. It was really fun.
he really enjoyed it. I have pictures. So you'll see them some day!

I'm trying to think of what else is going on. Or what happened. That's
pretty much it. Just busy busy busy working and trying to learn
Russian.I had a comforting comment from my teacher last week.
'"Here's my language study plan. I'm trying to do as much as I can so
I have the least amount of freak outs in Russia,"- Sister Carling
"HAHAHAHAHA. Yeah sorry Sister Carling but there is no amount of
preparation you can do in the MTC and not freak out in Russia. No one
can explain what going on a mission is like. It's going to be the
weirdest hardest thing you've ever done."-Brother Richardson
That was real comforting. Real comforting. NOT!

So yeah my time is up. But I promise I'm not freaking out that bad.
It's going to be so good. And I've been working hard and trying to be
the best missionary I can be. Thank you all for your support and all
the love I have from you.
